Read Matthew 16:27-17:9 and reread 2 Peter 1:16-18. Why do you think Jesus made sure to take Peter, James, and John to be "eyewitness" of his Transfiguration?
During the Transfiguration, God tells the disciples to "listen to his beloved son." What would it look like to live with a listening ear towards what God wants to say to us?
What comes to mind when you read Peter comparing God's Word to being like a "lamp shining in a dark place" (1:19)? What implications does this image have for us?
Can you think of a time that God's Word has strengthened your faith or calmed your doubts before? How did that happen?
