Why do God’s people need a new vision and new way of seeing our lives and the world around us?
How does Isaiah describe the people’s religious practices in verses 10–15? Why is God rejecting them?
Are there any kinds of “sacrifices” or religious practices that you tend to rely on to feel right with God, even when your heart isn’t in the right place?
How do we move from going through the motions of worship to being honest before God in worship?
Read Isaiah 1:17 again. How is justice connected to our worship? How do we misunderstand the gospel if we neglect to seek justice?
What obstacles (fear, time, comfort, indifference, etc) keep you from pursuing justice for those experiencing injustice? What is one step you could take in the next week to love your neighbor as yourself and “seek justice?”
